Luis Díaz could surprisingly depart Liverpool next summer, according to reports. Spanish media suggest that FC Barcelona is going ‘all in’ to secure the Colombian winger. The Catalan club previously showed interest but held back due to financial constraints.

The situation now seems to be shifting. The former FC Porto forward has only two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, which may open up opportunities. While Liverpool would ideally like to keep him after a strong season, they recognise that this could be the ideal time to negotiate a significant transfer deal. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barça has reportedly pulled out of the race for Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao and is now fully focused on Díaz. Adding fuel to the speculation, Díaz himself has addressed the rumours.

During a press moment with the Colombian national team, he confirmed ongoing discussions: “We’re in talks with Liverpool, but we are also speaking with other clubs. That’s normal during the transfer window.” However, he also expressed his contentment with the Reds: “If they offer me a good new contract, I’d be happy to stay – but the decision is up to them.” Additionally, his father recently spoke publicly: “Luis is a true Barcelona fan. Playing there has always been his dream. But we’re very grateful to both Liverpool and Porto.”
